„Stara Szkoła Architekci” is an all season guesthouse designed in a style of old landlord’s residence with homelike atmosphere. The residence is situated in a small peaceful village Jagodne Wielkie in the Land of Great Masurian Lakes (15 km from Gizycko). Newly renovated and precisely decorated village school house dated back in early 20th century and farm building once used as a barn and pigsty create a perfect place for active holidays, creative events and peaceful relaxation. Spacious backyard surrounded by orchard and flower beds has been provided with furnished porch, barbeque & open air party area. There is a tennis court, basketball/volleyball field and wide lawn suitable for recreational games such as mini-golf or cricket as well as outdoor workshops.

The building of the Old School has been purposed for room and apartment rental. Interior design creates the atmosphere of cozy grandma’s house always friendly and open for visitors. We wish our Old School to become an environment for creative events, active relaxation and self-development. Due to this fact we have changed the farm building into educational and leisure club where all range of activities take place. The building has been divided into conference room (up to 25 persons), hunters’ lounge with fireplace and billiards, sauna plus sports’ room, 2 double-floor workshop rooms attached to a foyer with library and kitchen facilities can be used by our individual guests as well as group projects for educational or leisure activities and events.

In order to promote active relaxation among our guests we have collected recreational and sport equipment, such as bicycles, windsurfing boards, kayaks and other objects that make every holiday enjoyable.

Our goal is not to become another hotel in a holiday industry but to create an environment for active and creative events for individuals as well as groups. To support this idea we rearrange the indoor space according to our guests needs each time.

Buildings of the Old School has been established in 1930’s and has been used as a domicile for a local elementary school and a house of the teacher since 1990’s. After the school had been shut down the biggest room of the building has been used as a local cultural center.

Jagodne Wielkie is a small village situated in the North side of Jagodne Lake – one of the Great Masurian Lakes. Even though all houses in Jagodne Wielkie are located by the road, thanks to not-passable road that ends in the neighborhood, it is a peaceful village.

Neighborhood area creates a perfect environment for peaceful relaxation and active recreation. Reach and diverse landscape allow many sport disciplines and ways of recreation as well as sightseeing. Lakes, forests, hilly fields and meadows become a paradise land for water sports’ amateurs and land holidaymakers. In majority of seasons it is an ideal area for hiking and biking, while in winter it becomes a natural track for classic skiing. Spacious landscapes enriched by villages and single farm sites give inspirations for artists of diverse disciplines.

There are many tourist attractions in the area – Giżycko and The Boyen Fortress, Sztynort marina, Mikołajki, Indian village, Ryn Palac, Święta Lipka monastery, “Wolf’s Lair” and Mamerki (famous Hitler’s bunkers) and many other worth visiting places. Bird and nature watchers will be astonished by Nietlickie Wetland where many bird species – including Eurasian crane and Corn crake – can be observed.

Interior of the Old School is flexible and will suit each guest’s needs. Room, apartment or house rental is available on the premises. The house includes 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, attic with sleeping area, fully equipped kitchen, living room with a fireplace, dining/living room with additional kitchen corner.
We offer twin bedrooms, triple bedrooms and multi-person open-space bedroom. There is a possibility of additional rollaway beds in some of the rooms. In order to keep home-like atmosphere majority of the bathrooms is available from the corridors. Although they are not inside each bedroom they are dedicated to specific rooms. Two kitchens, one in the main part of the house and another one in the dining room are prepared to serve the meal to a group of 30 people.

For our guests basic sport equipment such as badminton, table tenis, freezbee etc. are available on the premises free of charge.
